New JAMB Registrar Resolves 5,000 Complaints in First 5 Days
To gain firsthand insight into operational bottlenecks, Prof. Aina relocated his administrative desk directly into JAMB’s Service Compact with All Nigerians (SERVICOM) unit.
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has taken a decisive step toward improving candidate support across Nigeria. Under the leadership of the newly appointed Registrar, Prof. Segun Aina, the Board successfully addressed and resolved more than 5,000 backlogged candidate complaints within five days.
To gain firsthand insight into operational bottlenecks, Prof. Aina relocated his administrative desk directly into JAMB’s Service Compact with All Nigerians (SERVICOM) unit. This direct hands-on approach allowed the Board to streamline workflows, eliminate bureaucratic delays, and deliver rapid solutions for candidates experiencing technical, financial, and administrative challenges.
Key Complaint Areas Resolved for Candidates
The five-day operational overhaul targeted essential stages of the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and direct entry pipelines, clearing issues across six main service categories:
1. Profile Code Generation & SIM Recovery
Candidates who lost access to old phone numbers or SIM cards previously faced severe obstacles when attempting to create or recover profile codes. Desk officers cleared these bottlenecks, restoring access for affected applicants without compromising account security.
2. Biometric & Verification Failures
The exercise reviewed genuine fingerprint capturing errors and system mismatches recorded during UTME registration and examination days. Genuine verification issues were rectified to ensure candidates retain access to their official portal records.

3. Payment Processing & e-PIN Vending
Stuck financial transactions, failed bank debits, and e-PIN generation errors were reconciled. Candidates affected by vending delays received immediate payment confirmations and registration pin updates.
4. Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS)
Critical updates were executed on JAMB CAPS, including:
- Rectifying wrong course conversions on candidate profiles.
- Restoring missing names on the official matriculation list.
- Updating mobile contact details for real-time admission notifications.
5. Examination Logistics & Center Scheduling
Logistical issues were resolved for candidates who experienced erroneous test venue assignments, technical glitches at Computer-Based Test (CBT) centers, or document upload failures on the portal.
Commitment to Student-Centered Public Service
This initiative reflects the new administration’s core commitment—Service at Heart. By strengthening the SERVICOM unit and establishing holistic complaint-handling protocols, JAMB aims to provide an accessible, transparent, and fair service experience for every applicant nationwide.
Candidates experiencing unresolved registration, payment, or CAPS issues are encouraged to utilize official JAMB support channels, ticketing portals, and designated state SERVICOM desks for prompt assistance.
