Suicide: Ex Konga CEO and CEO D.light, Nick Imudia Commits Suicide In His Apartment
The former Chief Executive Officer of a prominent Nigerian e-commerce giant Konga, and CEO D.light, Nick Imudia, has reportedly committed suicide in his own apartment, stirring a flurry of reactions from Nigerians across the internet and social media platforms.
In a tragic way, Imudia took his own life on Tuesday, June 25 as he jumped from the balcony of his apartment in Lekki, Lagos state, late Tuesday night, without leaving a suicide note before behind taking his own life.
Born on April 28, 1979, he obtained a Bachelor of Engineering in Industrial Managements, Master of Engineering in Oil and Gas Technology from Aalborg University in 2000.
According to reports, his net worth was estimated to be $2.9 USD.
Imudia earned an MBA in International Business Management and before his untimely death, was serving as the CEO of a leading residential solar energy solutions company known as D.light.
Reportedly, Imudia Before the tragic incident, was said to have contacted his brother in the United States, giving instructions on how to distribute his wealth in the event of his death.
He also reached out to his young daughter from a previous relationship, assuring her that he would always be with her and that she could find him by looking at the sky.
Imudia, originally from Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State, had previously been married to the mother of his daughter, who also hails from the same local government.
Their marriage ended due to irreconcilable differences. He later found love again and married a Caucasian woman.
His successful career included roles as a regional director at TCL/Alcatel and as the GM/MD for West and Central Africa at Microsoft Device and Services before his tenure at Konga.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, has confirmed the case.
He said, “Yes, it is true. He committed the act on June 25.
His sudden demise has left his family , relations and friends in utter shock as none can trace the reason behind his suicide.
