SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY SATURDAY 7 OCT. 2017

Psalms 101:1-8

KJV: I will sing of mercy and judgment: unto thee, O LORD, will I sing.

NIV: I will sing of your love and justice; to you, LORD, I will sing praise.

NLT: A psalm of David. I will sing of your love and justice. I will praise you, Lord, with songs.

KJV: I will behave myself wisely in a perfect way. O when wilt thou come unto me? I will walk within my house with a perfect heart.

NIV: I will be careful to lead a blameless life — when will you come to me? I will conduct the affairs of my house with a blameless heart.

NLT: I will be careful to live a blameless life— when will you come to my aid? I will lead a life of integrity in my own home.

KJV: I will set no wicked thing before mine eyes: I hate the work of them that turn aside; it shall not cleave to me.

NIV: I will not look with approval on anything that is vile. I hate what faithless people do; I will have no part in it.

NLT: I will refuse to look at anything vile and vulgar. I hate all crooked dealings; I will have nothing to do with them.

KJV: A froward heart shall depart from me: I will not know a wicked person.

NIV: The perverse of heart shall be far from me; I will have nothing to do with what is evil.

NLT: I will reject perverse ideas and stay away from every evil.

KJV: Whoso privily slandereth his neighbour, him will I cut off: him that hath an high look and a proud heart will not I suffer.

NIV: Whoever slanders their neighbor in secret, I will put to silence; whoever has haughty eyes and a proud heart, I will not tolerate.

NLT: I will not tolerate people who slander their neighbors. I will not endure conceit and pride.

KJV: Mine eyes shall be upon the faithful of the land, that they may dwell with me: he that walketh in a perfect way, he shall serve me.

NIV: My eyes will be on the faithful in the land, that they may dwell with me; the one whose walk is blameless will minister to me.

NLT: I will keep a protective eye on the godly, so they may dwell with me in safety. Only those who are above reproach will be allowed to serve me.

KJV: He that worketh deceit shall not dwell within my house: he that telleth lies shall not tarry in my sight.

NIV: No one who practices deceit will dwell in my house; no one who speaks falsely will stand in my presence.

NLT: I will not allow deceivers to serve me, and liars will not be allowed to enter my presence.

KJV: I will early destroy all the wicked of the land; that I may cut off all wicked doers from the city of the LORD.

NIV: Every morning I will put to silence all the wicked in the land; I will cut off every evildoer from the city of the LORD.

NLT: My daily task will be to ferret out criminals and free the city of the Lord from their grip.
