The implementation of The Federal Government’s Presidential CNG Initiative, has commenced, meaning that interested individuals or transport companies can now apply for the Compressed Natural Gas initiative.

The Presidential CNG Initiative has commenced implementing a Commercial Vehicle Conversion Incentive Programme (CV-CIP) which provides FREE conversion of union- registered vehicles in major cities where the conversion programme has been activated in Nigeria without paying for labour, as well as ride-share vehicles, which operators can benefit from a 50% discount.

Recall that Mr. Folarin Oworu, who is the programme Coordinator, Presidential Compressed Natural Gas Initiative (PCNGI), had said in July that “CNGI is a key component of President Bola Tinubu administration’s palliative measures introduced to ameliorate the effects of the fuel subsidy removal policy on the Nigerian masses.”

The initiative is targeting to bring relief to Nigerians by promoting the use of CNG as a better and more affordable alternative to fuel.

The centres in several states of Nigeria include Edo and Oyo, to convert vehicles from petrol to gas, lowering transportation costs and resulting in a lower cost of living for the general public.

If you own a car or operate a commercial or ride- sharing business in an activated city, take the following steps to sign up for participation in the CNG programme.
