Presidential Jet: No Argument Justifies Tinubu Buying 14 Year Old Aircraft–Ezekwesili
Ezekwesili said no argument from Tinubu will persuade Nigerians into justifying what she described as the President’s “latest profligacy”.
A former Minister of Education in the Chief Olusegun Obasanjo’s administration and campaigner for Bring Back Our Girls during the Goodluck Jonathan’s administration Oby Ezekwesili, has said no argument justifies President Bola Tinubu for buying a 14 year old aircraft.
Speaking on Tuesday via her verified X handle, she stated that Tinubu has no argument to justify the purchase of a 14-year-old aircraft as a presidential jet.
Recall that the Labour Party’s presidential candidate in the 2023 President election, HE Peter Gregory Obi, had said “The trending international news on the seizure of three Jets belonging to Nigeria’s Presidential fleet is yet another of many embarrassing things exposing our failed leadership and our attitude to the rule of law even in a democracy.”
Recently, Dakuku Peterside said “US court was scathing in its judgement, asserting that Nigeria had “gruesomely” violated the Chinese firm’s fundamental and commercial rights. This ruling has led to the dramatic seizure of three Nigerian aircraft in France—aircraft that belong to the federal government. The seized jets include a Dassault Falcon 7X, a Boeing 737-7N6/BBJ, and an Airbus A330-243, all stationed at Paris-Le Bourget and Basel-Mulhouse airports.”
Ezekwesili said no argument from Tinubu will persuade Nigerians into justifying what she described as the President’s “latest profligacy”.
In her post, Ezekwesili wrote: “No argument justifies the purchase of a 14 year old Airbus plane by the @NGRPresident @officialABAT for his indulgence.
“No argument that can persuade reasonable people justifies this latest profligacy.
