#ENDSARS: Mayhem In Imo As Blood Flows, Soldier and Policeman Killed, Police Station Burnt In Mbaitoli LGA

Nwaorieubi Police Divisional Headquarters in Mbaitoli LGA Imo State burnt 21/10/2020.

Unidentified hoodlums on Wednesday set Nwaorieubi Police Divisional Headquarters in Mbaitoli LGA on fire in continuation of the ongoing protest against police brutality.

The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Mr Ikeokwu Orlando, confirmed the incident to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Wednesday.

He said, ”Yes I can confirm to you that Nworubi Police Division was set on fire this afternoon by hoodlums.

“No arrest has been made yet, but police authorities have opened an investigation into the matter,” he said.

Despite the curfew imposed by Governor Hope Uzodinma on Tuesday meant to stop and checkmate protesters who took over major roads early in the week, mayhem has continued as the country is enmeshed in bitter crisis, with Imo State having its fair share of destruction.

A soldiers stationed at a checkpoint in a part of Owerri- Orlu road was killed, same for a police man. Also, civilians were reportedly brought down as shown in video circulating online.

It was learnt that the police man met his untimely death when yet to be identified persons using a Siena bus opened fire on him. How the soldier met his death cannot be ascertained but there is tension in the State.
