Psalms 107:1-43

KJV: O give thanks unto the LORD, for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.
WEB: Give thanks to Yahweh, for he is good, for his loving kindness endures forever.
NLT: Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good! His faithful love endures forever.

KJV: Let the redeemed of the LORD say so, whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy;
WEB: Let the redeemed by Yahweh say so, whom he has redeemed from the hand of the adversary,
NLT: Has the Lord redeemed you? Then speak out! Tell others he has saved you from your enemies.

KJV: And gathered them out of the lands, from the east, and from the west, from the north, and from the south.
WEB: And gathered out of the lands, from the east and from the west, from the north and from the south.
NLT: For he has gathered the exiles from many lands, from east and west, from north and south.

KJV: They wandered in the wilderness in a solitary way; they found no city to dwell in.

NLT: What a blessing was that stillness as he brought them safely into harbor!

NLT: But he also turns deserts into pools of water, the dry land into flowing springs.

KJV: And there he maketh the hungry to dwell, that they may prepare a city for habitation;

KJV: He blesseth them also, so that they are multiplied greatly; and suffereth not their cattle to decrease.

NLT: How he blesses them! They raise large families there, and their herds of cattle increase.

KJV: Again, they are minished and brought low through oppression, affliction, and sorrow.
WEB: Again, they are diminished and bowed down through oppression, trouble, and sorrow.
NLT: When they decrease in number and become impoverished through oppression, trouble, and sorrow,

KJV: He poureth contempt upon princes, and causeth them to wander in the wilderness, where there is no way.
WEB: He pours contempt on princes, and causes them to wander in a trackless waste.
NLT: the Lord pours contempt on their princes, causing them to wander in trackless wastelands.

KJV: Yet setteth he the poor on high from affliction, and maketh him families like a flock.
WEB: Yet he lifts the needy out of their affliction, and increases their families like a flock.
NLT: But he rescues the poor from their distress and increases their families like vast flocks of sheep.

KJV: The righteous shall see it, and rejoice: and all iniquity shall stop her mouth.
WEB: The upright will see it, and be glad. All the wicked will shut their mouths.
NLT: The godly will see these things and be glad, while the wicked are stricken silent.

KJV: Whoso is wise, and will observe these things, even they shall understand the lovingkindness of the LORD.
WEB: Whoever is wise will pay attention to these things. They will consider the loving kindnesses of Yahweh.
NLT: Those who are wise will take all this to heart; they will see in our history the faithful love of the Lord.
