Psalms 99:1-9
1

KJV: The LORD reigneth; let the people tremble: he sitteth between the cherubims; let the earth be moved.

NIV: The LORD reigns, let the nations tremble; he sits enthroned between the cherubim, let the earth shake.

NLT: The Lord is king! Let the nations tremble! He sits on his throne between the cherubim. Let the whole earth quake!

KJV: The LORD is great in Zion; and he is high above all the people.

NIV: Great is the LORD in Zion; he is exalted over all the nations.

NLT: The Lord sits in majesty in Jerusalem, supreme above all the nations.

KJV: Let them praise thy great and terrible name; for it is holy.

NIV: Let them praise your great and awesome name — he is holy.

NLT: Let them praise your great and awesome name. Your name is holy!

KJV: The king’s strength also loveth judgment; thou dost establish equity, thou executest judgment and righteousness in Jacob.

NIV: The King is mighty, he loves justice — you have established equity; in Jacob you have done what is just and right.

NLT: Mighty king, lover of justice, you have established fairness. You have acted with justice and righteousness throughout Israel.

KJV: Exalt ye the LORD our God, and worship at his footstool; for he is holy.

NIV: Exalt the LORD our God and worship at his footstool; he is holy.

NLT: Exalt the Lord our God! Bow low before his feet, for he is holy!

KJV: Moses and Aaron among his priests, and Samuel among them that call upon his name; they called upon the LORD, and he answered them.

NIV: Moses and Aaron were among his priests, Samuel was among those who called on his name; they called on the LORD and he answered them.

NLT: Moses and Aaron were among his priests; Samuel also called on his name. They cried to the Lord for help, and he answered them.

KJV: He spake unto them in the cloudy pillar: they kept his testimonies, and the ordinance that he gave them.

NIV: He spoke to them from the pillar of cloud; they kept his statutes and the decrees he gave them.

NLT: He spoke to them from the pillar of cloud, and they followed the decrees and principles he gave them.

KJV: Thou answeredst them, O LORD our God: thou wast a God that forgavest them, though thou tookest vengeance of their inventions.

NIV: LORD our God, you answered them; you were to Israel a forgiving God, though you punished their misdeeds.

NLT: O Lord our God, you answered them. You were a forgiving God, but you punished them when they went wrong.

KJV: Exalt the LORD our God, and worship at his holy hill; for the LORD our God is holy.

NIV: Exalt the LORD our God and worship at his holy mountain, for the LORD our God is holy.

NLT: Exalt the Lord our God and worship at his holy mountain in Jerusalem, for the Lord our God is holy!
