Psalms 95:1-11

1

KJV: O come, let us sing unto the LORD: let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation.

NIV: Come, let us sing for joy to the LORD; let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation.

BBE: O come, let us make songs to the Lord; sending up glad voices to the Rock of our salvation.

KJV: Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving, and make a joyful noise unto him with psalms.

NIV: Let us come before him with thanksgiving and extol him with music and song.

BBE: Let us come before his face with praises; and make melody with holy songs.

KJV: For the LORD is a great God, and a great King above all gods.

NIV: For the LORD is the great God, the great King above all gods.

BBE: For the Lord is a great God, and a great King over all gods.

KJV: In his hand are the deep places of the earth: the strength of the hills is his also.

NIV: In his hand are the depths of the earth, and the mountain peaks belong to him.

BBE: The deep places of the earth are in his hand; and the tops of the mountains are his.

KJV: The sea is his, and he made it: and his hands formed the dry land.

NIV: The sea is his, for he made it, and his hands formed the dry land.

BBE: The sea is his, and he made it; and the dry land was formed by his hands.

KJV: O come, let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the LORD our maker.

NIV: Come, let us bow down in worship, let us kneel before the LORD our Maker;

BBE: O come, let us give worship, falling down on our knees before the Lord our Maker.

KJV: For he is our God; and we are the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand. To day if ye will hear his voice,

NIV: for he is our God and we are the people of his pasture, the flock under his care. Today, if only you would hear his voice,

BBE: For he is our God; and we are the people to whom he gives food, and the sheep of his flock. Today, if you would only give ear to his voice!

KJV: Harden not your heart, as in the provocation, and as in the day of temptation in the wilderness:

NIV: “Do not harden your hearts as you did at Meribah, as you did that day at Massah in the wilderness,

BBE: Let not your hearts be hard, as at Meribah, as in the day of Massah in the waste land;

KJV: When your fathers tempted me, proved me, and saw my work.

NIV: where your ancestors tested me; they tried me, though they had seen what I did.

BBE: When your fathers put me to the test and saw my power and my work.

KJV: Forty years long was I grieved with this generation, and said, It is a people that do err in their heart, and they have not known my ways:

NIV: For forty years I was angry with that generation; I said, ’They are a people whose hearts go astray, and they have not known my ways.’

BBE: For forty years I was angry with this generation, and said, They are a people whose hearts are turned away from me, for they have no knowledge of my ways;

KJV: Unto whom I sware in my wrath that they should not enter into my rest.

NIV: So I declared on oath in my anger, ’They shall never enter my rest.’”

BBE: And I made an oath in my wrath, that they might not come into my place of rest.
